I have always loved taking photographs, particularly of nature - both wildlife and landscapes. Photography is a hobby for me and this page is a simple portfolio, a handful really, of my more treasured or unique images. All images on this page are copyright 2005 and the sole property of grafxbylisa and Lisa Miguez unless otherwise specified. I hope you enjoy it!

Summer 2004 - getting the shots... "I inched as close as I dared, to get as many shots as possible (maybe 15-20 feet) without spooking the kids. Then mom and dad returned... and were they mad! While they screamed at me, my friend warned me I was getting swooped at by one or the other, or both! It was almost a little too close for comfort but at least I got one good shot, and a story to tell."

The two photos on the left were taken in the summer of 2004. The two on the right were taken in August of 2003, in the same vicinity as the aforementioned juveniles. There appears to be a nest in the crook of a large fir tree nearby, which is difficult, if not impossible to see. Nose Hill Park is just across the street, where we often see them perched atop the street lights, or circling the hill in search of food.
We have observed the hawks having dinner (and mating) on top of one of the tall, flat-topped poles down the alley. We always look forward to their return from migration.
