presents

I never knew much about American Robins before developing the original "Jack's Place" website presence, other than knowing that they were robins. I spent a good deal of time on Google and at the library, in an effort to gather as much relevant research material as possible for the project.

All information provided in the "Learn" section of the App is a result of that research. Though I spent a lot of time researching and gathering the information, I am not an ornithologist (a person who studies birds). I am a backyard enthusiast at best. Therefore, I provide the information as is and free of warranty or guarantee of any kind. You can find the information yourself with the following resources.

IN PRINT:
"The American Robin" by Roland H. Wauer, copyright 1999, U of Texas Press
"Birds of Alberta" by Chris Fisher and John Acorn, copyright 1998, Lone Pine Publishing

ONLINE:
Animal Diversity Web
Bird Studies Canada
Environment Canada's Wildspace (select American Robin from the search menu on the left)
Hinterland Who's Who

There are several other great sources of information about American Robins on the web, too many to list.

The original photos and videos in "Jack's Place" were taken with a Kodak CX7530 EasyShare digital camera. I tried using the best pictures and movies possible for the project - limited to the camera's capability. Some of the more recent images were taken with my new camera, the Canon Rebel T2i. Practice makes perfect and I hope to bring the best images possible to "Jack's Place".

All photos, videos, and content of the "Jack's Story" iPhone app and this website are the property of and copyright to Lisa Miguez, unless otherwise specified in the Credits section of this website.

Developing the app wouldn't have been possible without testing the app! A very special thank you to all of my unit testers - thank you so much for your patience and suggestions. Special thanks to: NG (and HG and BG), NY, and SM!
